Biopolymers for a Sustainable Future: Turning Waste into Innovation

As part of European Green Week, on 19 June 2025 the event “Biopolymers for a Sustainable Future” brought together researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore how sustainable polymers can support Europe’s transition toward a circular economy.

Organized by the POLYMEER and FURIOUS projects, the webinar offered a forward-looking view of how renewable materials and waste valorization are driving a new generation of high-performance plastics.

FURIOUS presented at the BIOPOL 2024 conference

BIOPOL2024 is an international conference on Bio-based and Biodegradable Polymers organised every two years by the BIOPOL research group of the University of Alicante. 

This year, we were given the opportunity to disseminate the FURIOUS project at this prestigious conference. Our presence included a dedicated desk with a roll-up banner, a poster, and flyers on the project.

FURIOUS presented at the GREENCHEMCO conference 2023

FURIOUS was officially introduced for the first time at the GREENCHEMCO conference, held in Pisa, Italy, from June 28th to 30th, 2023.

Mario Milazzo, Norma Mallegni, and Sara Filippi from the University of Pisa seized the opportunity presented by this international conference to showcase the innovations that the FURIOUS project aims to achieve during its four-year duration. These innovations were presented both in a presentation and on a poster.
